MUMBAI: Cooperative housing societies will need to have their new residents’ management committees in place by the year-end. The state cabinet on Tuesday decided the deadline for elections of the nearly four lakh societies falling in various categories based on budgets in Mumbai region.
“Societies with smaller budgets such as housing societies and local credit societies will have to complete their fresh elections by December 31. For cooperative institutions, such as sugar cooperatives or cooperative banks, the process will have to be completed by June 2015,” said cooperatives minister Chandrakant Patil.
